Founding Intern, Backend Development

At Veevo, our mission is to build a future free of heart disease and empower people at risk to live long, healthy lives into their 90s and beyond, with confidence in their heart health.

We're looking for a self-driven, detail-oriented Backend Engineering Intern to help build the foundation of our mobile application. This is a unique opportunity to work with a modern tech stack (Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, AWS) and build the core infrastructure that powers a product designed to help millions live longer, healthier lives.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure backend APIs using Python and FastAPI.
• Manage our PostgreSQL database, including schema design and query optimization.
• Collaborate with the mobile development team to integrate new features and optimize performance.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in CS or related fields. We care more about your ability to learn quickly and think from first principles than your specific major.
• Hands-on experience with Python and API development (FastAPI or Flask experience is a plus).
• Solid understanding of relational databases and experience with PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Deep interest in health, technology, and excitement for our mission.
